Education & Experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) in the state of Maryland, by the National Board of Certified Counselors. I earned a B.S. in Public Relations with a minor in Psychology from Syracuse University in 2001. After a few years of working, I decided to follow my passion and go back to school to help people reach their full potential, and live a more meaningful life. I went back to school in 2008 and received a Master's in Clinical Counseling from The Johns Hopkins University in 2010.
It is important to me that my clients feel comfortable and a part of the therapy process. My approach to therapy is one where you and I can create a strong therapeutic relationship so you can feel safe and open up without feeling judged. Not only is it important to be able to share what is causing you stress, anxiety, depression etc. in your life, but to also work together so you are an active participant in your own healing. I often utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Solution Focused therapy techniques in my practice. However, I understand that each person is unique, and may need different approaches to help reach their therapy goals.
Though I've worked with a wide variety of client issues throughout my career, I specialize in the following areas:
